Autumn Sonnichsen’s work feels grounded, which is surprising seeing that she has lived in Los Angeles, Florida, Eureka, Paris, Cairo, and now lives and works out of São Paulo, New York, and Berlin. A review of her portfolio will show that, though she can produce fairly slick commercial work, she revels in the candid, intimate, and personal. Her best work feels light, easy, and fresh, without seeming trite.
Sonnichsen’s editorial photography has been published in Men’s Vogue Brazil, Italian GQ, Playboy Germany, Playboy Brazil, FHM, Maxim, Nico, Stern, Vice Magazine, Trip Magazine, TPM, ArtForum, and Men’s Health. In addition to her work as a photographer, she also directs short films for fashion and advertising clients and exhibits in galleries and museums worldwide.
