André-François Barbe

André-François Barbe (1936-2014) began his career in 1958 by publishing his drawings in Le Rire, as well as Hara-Kiri, Charlie Mensuel and Pilote. He is known for his lighthearted and sensual cartoons and erotic drawings.

A master of erotic drawing, André-François Barbe, better known as Barbe, was particularly noted for his series Cinema, published in Charlie Mensuel. He also worked for Lui, L’Echo des Savanes, Le Monde, Lire… and in the US, for Esquire, in Britain, for Punch, and in Germany, for Pardon.
