Angela Buron is a photographer and digital artist from Spain. As a child she dreamt of being an inventor and that desire permeates her work. She builds human bodies in strange and surreal ways that feel at once familiar and strange. At their best her images convey a very specific feeling that is occasionally disturbing but, more often than not, revelatory and I find myself engaging with her images both viscerally and intellectually.
Buron became a teacher but quickly left the profession to follow her passion in photography. A decision I fully support, though I can’t imagine she wasn’t a very creative engineering teacher.
