Dani Olivier is a French photographer. He began taking pictures as a teenager in an informal, weekly photography club in Paris. Between 2000 and 2006, Olivier worked on model self-portraits, asking models to use a digital camera to shoot their first nude self portraits. Olivier’s aim was to capture a unique moment: a person’s first selfie, long before the concept became popular.
From 2007 on, Olivier has specialized in abstract nude, compositions achieved by projecting complex images and intricate light patterns on his models. Using minimal design, “a body, a black backdrop and lights”, coupled with state-of-the-art light projectors. He never touches up the originals.
