Roy Stuart is an American photographer and film director who lives in Paris. His photographs blend glamour photography and contemporary art with an emphasis on female models and BDSM aesthetics.
Stuart lived in New York in the late 1970s and early 1980s, working as an actor (“his only role of interest was a bit part in “The Godfather Part II,” playing an American soldier back from World War II”), musician and as a technician in a color photo lab. He moved to London where he became a photographer and began taking erotic photographs. After Dian Hanson organized a meeting with Benedikt Taschen, Stuart produced five volumes of photographs for Taschen which have sold more than 500,000 copies.
He has directed the movies Giulia and The Lost Door. Roy Stuart currently lives and works in Paris.
